About Scale & Tale Tavern

The Short Version

Scale & Tale Tavern is the home for my tabletop campaigns, original music, and ongoing worldbuilding — plus whatever new projects grow out of that creative chaos.

About the Tavern

Where It All Started

The Scale & Tale Tavern started as a placeholder — a simple in-game tavern where players could rest between adventures, restock supplies, and swap stories over imaginary ale. Nothing fancy. Just somewhere to be when the dungeon was done.

But it worked. The players kept coming back to it. The barkeep got a name. The regulars got backstories. Before long, the Scale & Tale wasn't just a pit stop — it was home base. So it followed us from campaign to campaign, showing up wherever the party needed a familiar hearth.

From Fiction to Reality

When we set up an official tabletop gaming room in our home, there was only one name that made sense. The Scale & Tale became a real place — our place. Dice on the table, maps on the walls, and more weekends than we can count spent storytelling and dealing with the glorious nonsense that followed.

Over those sessions, a library grew:

  • Random NPCs with too much personality
  • Places that were supposed to be throwaway encounters but became legendary
  • Events that no one planned but everyone remembers
  • The kind of stuff you can't script — only play.

Songs from the Table

From those gaming sessions — the heroes, the villains, the tavern brawls, and the quiet moments — grew something unexpected. All those characters, places, and events are now being retold through the bardic magic of song.

Every track in the Scale & Tale catalogue was born from a real moment at the table: a player's bold move, a villain's curtain call, a hero's quiet sacrifice. The campaign doesn't just inspire the music — it is the music. The setlist writes itself, one session at a time.

If You're New Here

You don't need to know the whole backstory to jump in. Start with whatever you're curious about — a song, a character, a location, a campaign arc — and follow the thread. That's how Scale & Tale has always worked.

Pull up a chair. The bard's got stories to tell.
